When is the best time to have your Wedding ceremony?
The Best Time for Your Beach Wedding
One of the questions couples ask us in the later stages of planning weddings in Palawan for our clients we always reply honestly and say ‘it depends’! Depending on who you ask, one couple might prefer a sunset ceremony while another could prefer a late afternoon ceremony. So below we have a general guide that we hope will help determine which time of the day you’d like to kick off your fabulous Palawan wedding.
Morning Ceremony - 8 to 11am
Although it’s not a typical choice made by couples, there are some advantages to choosing a morning ceremony. Generally, morning will be the quitest time of day at your wedding venue, and for guests the temperature can be more comfortable. A reception lunch with everyone to celebrate and a romantic dinner for two at the end of the day can cap off a great morning ceremony wedding.
Early Afternoon Ceremony - 11am to 3pm
Mid-day ceremonies provide ample lighting for photography and filming your big day. The afternoon brings out the true color of your Palawan wedding, from the ocean to the trees, flowers, and natural surroundings, to the beautiful people around you as you say I do. It’s also a good time if you want to plan some time to head back to your room to change and freshen up before heading off to a dinner reception. An afternoon ceremony also allows everyone more time to get ready in the morning, and time to freshen up for an early dinner reception that cascades into a beautiful Palawan sunset.
Late Afternoon Ceremony - 3 to 5pm
Late afternoon ceremonies are another great time to have your Palawan wedding. It allows you and your guests most of the day to get ready. If some guests are arriving to the resort the same day of your wedding a later start time gives them more time to settle in and freshen up before the ceremony. The lighting is still bright enough for great photography and filming, and may offer cooler temperatures. Lastly, a late afternoon ceremony allows a smooth setting into the sunset for your reception as the night sky takes over for the celebration.
Sunset Ceremony - 5 to 6/6:30pm
Although the Palawan sunset time fluctuates a bit throughout the year, typically it will fall between 5-6 or 6:30pm. The lighting during this time of day is obviously not as bright but it creates a romantic look for photos that lots of couples love. Keep in mind that sunset colors will depend on mother nature that day but Palawan sure does have some of the best sunsets in the world. The reception seamlessly enters after the ceremony for the celebration to continue on into the night.
